Goodfellas - Joe Pesci Funny how? Scene

I'm a firm believer that there are two kinds of people in this world: Godfather people or Goodfellas people. I fall into the Goodfellas category. Don't get me wrong, I loved The Godfather as much as the next person, but Goodfellas is the quintisential mob story.

First off it gets to the underbelly of the mafia. With The Godfather, these were the biggest of the big mob bosses. You feel like the Corleones owned cities. With Goodfellas, it ewas brought down to a local level. These were guys you saw hanging on the street corner everyday. They also did their own dirty work. If something had to be done, they wouldn't make a phone call. They would come down their personally to remedy the situation.

The "funny how" scene is probably the most memorable. It really shows how dangerous being the mafia. It really goes to show if something said can be taken the wrong way, there are severe consequences. You could see it in Ray Liotta's face. His face clearly says "Oh my God, is this guy going to kill me because I called him funny?"

Pulp Fiction - The Adrenaline Shot Scene

WARNING: If you are a little squeemish of needles you might not want to click play.

Pulp Fiction is a massive, epic story of the LA underworld. It involves, gangsters, rapists, thieves, and every other kind of low life you could think of. All the stories intertwine. You could name about a thousand movies that copied this formula after 1994.

Prior to this scene, Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) has accidently mistaken Vincent Vega's heroin for cocaine and snorts the heroin, which causes her to have an overdose.

The next scene (the one above) Vincent hurries to his local drug dealer, Lance (Eric Stoltz) to get an adrenaline shot so they could sace Mia's life.

The scene handles realy dark tones with this very uncomfortable It's kind of saying to us "should we really be laughing at this?" Check out some Quentin Tarrantino (director) does with some of these. Just look at how uncomfortably close he gets to the faces of Travolta, Stolts, the needle. It adds to the heightened sense suspense. You have a hard time watching it, but you're absolutely fixated on what's going to happen.

PS I just love the body language of Lance as he watches Vincent drive his car right through his lawn. It's just so "Look at what this asshole is doing".

Glengarry Glen Ross - Alec Baldwin ABC Scene

In the film Glengarry Glen Ross, you have legendary actors such as Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, and Jack Lemmon. Bur it's Alec Baldwin who steals the whole move in about 7 minutes.

The movie was written by David Mamet. His dialogue just has so much bite and backbone. His script shows the dispair of the lives of struggling real estate salesman so perfectly.

In this memorable scene, Alec Baldwin plays a big wig for the real esate brokerage company. He comes in to give the salesmen a "pep talk". He is absolutely vicious. I can't imagine how much this hurt the recruitment of realtors :)
